Far Barbunny

A little hogback in The Machars of Galloway, Far Barbunny rises to just above 110m (360 feet) immediately to the south of the A75 Trunk Road, 2 miles (3 km) west of Kirkcowan. This is one of a number of drumlins in this area and is aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of ice flow within an ancient glacier. Plantation woodland extends to the east from the base of this hill. Near Barbunny lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the southwest.
