Knockbreck

The larger of a pair of modest hills in The Machars of Galloway, Knockbreck rises to just beyond 105m (344 feet), 2½ miles (4 km) west of Kirkcowan. The smaller Muil Hill lies immediately to the southeast. Both are drumlins, deposited beneath an ice sheet which once covered this area and are aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of ice flow. There is another Knockbreck 2½ miles (4 km) to the east.
