Barlennan Hill

An oval hillock in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Barlennan Hill rises to just beyond 75m (246 feet) on the left bank of the Tarf Water, a half-mile (1 km) southwest of Kirkcowan. This is one of a number of drumlins in this area, with its principal access aligned N-S indicating the direction of ice flow. Confusingly there is another summit called Barlennan on the opposite side of Kirkcowan, 1¼ miles (2 km) to the east northeast.
