Barflawen Hill

A hogback in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Barflawen Hill rises to 52m (170 feet) on the right bank of the River Bladnoch, a half-mile (0.8 km) southwest of Spittal and 3 miles (5 km) southeast of Kirkcowan. This is part of a large drumlin field, deposited beneath an extensive ice sheet which once covered this area, and is aligned N-S indicating the direction of flow.
