Saddle, The

The Saddle is the last in a range of peaks located south of Glen Shiel, straddling the border of Lochaber and Skye & Lochalsh districts of Highland Council and is recognised as the finest in the area. Its eastern ridge is called "The Forcan Ridge" and is a very popular scrambling route. The summit can be found at 1010m (3314 feet), 4 miles (6.5 km) south of Shiel Bridge, and is a level crest which is about 100m (328 feet) in length. The western end is the site of a triangulation point, whilst the summit cairn is found on a rocky buttress to the east.
