Wood Hill

A low conical hillock in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Wood Hill rises to 52m (170 feet) within a meander of the River Bladnoch, 3½ miles (5.5 km) west of Wigtown. This is one of a number of drumlins in the area, deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet. Another, Kiln Hill, lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the west southwest, while there are other Wood Hills 4 miles (6.5 km) to the west northwest and 5½ miles (9 km) to the north northwest.
