Auld Hill

The loftiest of a group of well-defined drumlins in The Machars of Galloway, Auld Hill rises to 89m (291 feet) 1½ miles (2.5 km) northwest of Spittal and 4 miles (6.5 km) northwest of Wigtown. Auld Hill has a lengthy tail which extends for a half-mile (0.8 km) to the south southwest towards Blackpark Hill indicating the direction of glacial flow. Confusingly, there is another Auld Hill located just a mile (1.6 km) to the north northeast.
