Cote Hill

A summit on the east coast of The Machars peninsula in Galloway, Cote Hill rises to 51m (167 feet) overlooking Wigtown Bay behind Cruggleton Point and 2½ miles (4 km) northeast of Whithorn. Unnamed on modern Ordnance Survey maps, this hill represents a drumlin, composed of glacial till and deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet. Its principal axis is aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of glacial ice flow.
