Drumtroddan Hill

An elongated whaleback in The Machars of Galloway, Drumtroddan Hill rises to 73m (239 feet) ¾ mile (1.2 km) north northeast of the White Loch of Myrton and 2 miles (3 km) east northeast of Port William. This is a fine example of a drumlin, one of a number hereabouts, and is aligned NE-SW suggesting the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered this area. The archaeological site of Drumtroddan lies to the southwest.
