Drumdow

A well-defined teardrop-shaped drumlin in The Machars of Galloway, Drumdow rises to 66m (216 feet) a mile (1.5 km) north of White Loch and 2¼ miles (3.5 km) west southwest of Sorbie. This is part of an extensive drumlin field, with its principal axis aligned ENE-WSW indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered this area. A forest plantation occupies Grennan Moss to the southeast. There is another Drumdow, which is also a drumlin, located 5 miles (8 km) to the west northwest.
