Grennan Hill

A low hogback in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Grennan Hill rises to 66m (216 feet) 1½ miles (2.5 km) northwest of Castlewigg and a similar distance southwest of Sorbie. This is one of a number of drumlins hereabouts, aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered this area. A forest plantation occupies Grennan Moss to the north and west.
