Knocknishie

A conical little hillock in The Machars of Galloway, Knocknishie rises to 47m (154 feet) to the east of Cairn Hill, a mile (1.8 km) south southeast of Sorbie and 2 miles (3 km) west southwest of Garlieston. This is one of a number of drumlins in this area, all deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet. Knocknishie marks a division between drumlins aligned NE-SW and those aligned NW-SE, suggesting a divergence in the direction of the ice.
