Wood Hill

Wood Hill extends to the southwest of Round Hill in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway and represents the tail of a well-developed drumlin which rises to just beyond 55m (180 feet) to the north of Drummoddie and 3 miles (5 km) west of Sorbie. This is one of a number of drumlins hereabouts and is aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet. Inner Wood Hill is located a half-mile (1 km) to the northeast, while there is another Wood Hill 6 miles (10 km) to the north.
