Chapel Hill

A hogback in The Machars of Galloway, Chapel Hill rises to just beyond 75m (246 feet) to the north of the Dowalton Marshes, 2½ miles (4 km) west of Sorbie. This is part of an extensive drumlin field deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet, with its principal axis aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of flow. There is another Chapel Hill located 4½ miles (7 km) to the east northeast.
