An elongated hillock in The Machars of Galloway, Drumneil rises to 73m (239 feet) opposite Drumneil farm, a mile (1.6 km) northeast of Mochrum. This is part of an extensive drumlin field, deposited by an ancient ice sheet, with its principal axis aligned NE-SW suggesting the direction of flow.
