Airies Hill

A well-defined drumlin in Galloway, Airies Hill rises to 67m (219 feet) ¾ mile (1.2 km) south of Whauphill and a mile (1.6 km) north of the Dowalton Marshes. This is one of a number of drumlins in The Machars, deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet and aligned NE-SW indicating the direction of flow. Airies Mill Hill and Little Airies Hill are other drumlins, lying to the east.
