Baltorrens

A drumlin in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Baltorrens rises to just beyond 100m (328 feet) on the left bank of the Black Burn, a half-mile (1 km) north of Culvennan Fell and 6 miles (10 km) west of Newton Stewart. There are a significant number of drumlins in this area, all deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet. Baltorrens is aligned NE-SW suggesting the direction of ice flow.
