A drumlin in The Machars of Galloway, Turnieminnoch rises to 109m (357 feet) immediately to the southeast of another drumlin, Knockytinnie, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) northeast of Carseriggan. These form part of an extensive drumlin field hereabouts, deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet which once covered this area.
