Kilsture Hill

An elongated hogback in The Machars of Galloway, Kilsture Hill rises to 53m (173 feet) almost entirely surrounded by plantation forest, 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Kirkinner and 2½ miles (4 km) northwest of Garlieston. This is part of an extensive drumlin field, with its principal axis aligned N-S suggesting the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered the area.
