Chapel Hill

A little hogback in The Machars of Galloway, Chapel Hill rises to just above 35m (114 feet) overlooking Orchardton Bay, 2½ miles (4 km) east southeast of Kirkinner. This is one of a number of drumlins hereabout, deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet and aligned NNW-SSE indicating the direction of flow. There is another Chapel Hill located 4½ miles (7 km) to the west southwest.
