Low Wood Junction

A junction on the M80 motorway in Cumbernauld (North Lanarkshire), Low Wood is formally designated as Junction 4a and is located between Balloch and Condorrat. It provides access to Cumbernauld Town Centre from the southwest, as well as the town's northwestern suburbs. It is not accessible to vehicles coming from the northeast. Built in the 1960s, on the former A80, which itself followed the route of a much older road, it takes its name from a woodland lying to the north. Junction 5 (the Auchenkilns Junction) lies a half-mile (0.8 km) to the northeast.
