Bratney Walls Pond

A little lochan within the Bell's Moor Plantation in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Bratney Walls Pond lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) north northwest of Sloehabbert and half-mile (1 km) northwest of Whauphill. The name is said to derive from farm buildings which were demolished before the mid 19th C. most-likely as part of the improvements made to the landscape surrounding the mansion at Barnbarroch a half-mile (0.8 km) the north.
