Drumgowan

A low-lying hogback in The Machars of Galloway, Drumgowan reaches a height of just beyond 40m (131 feet) 2¼ miles (3.5 km) south of Newton Stewart. This is one of a number of drumlins in this area and is aligned NNW-SSE suggesting the direction of flow of the ice sheet that once covered the area. Coldside Hill and Rolland Hill, to the west and southwest, are better examples of drumlins.
