Drumterlie Hill

An insignificant summit in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Drumterlie Hill rises to just beyond 55m (180 feet) to the northwest of Drumterlie and 2 miles (3 km) southwest of Newton Stewart. A patch of woodland cuts across its northwestern slopes. This is a drumlin, one of a number hereabouts, with its principal axis aligned NNW-SSE suggesting the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which covered this area.
