Drumbeg Hill

The summit in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Drumbeg Hill rises to 73m (239 feet) a half-mile (1 km) west of Boreland Fell and a mile (1.6 km) southeast of Kirkcowan. Extending southeast from Lady Hill and Drummore Hill, this is part of an extensive drumlin field. Its principal axis is aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of flow of an ice sheet which once covered this area. There is another Drumbeg Hill 11 miles (18 km) to the south southeast.
