Drumwhirran

A summit in The Machars of Galloway, Drumwhirran rises to just beyond 90m (295 feet) overlooking the Tarf Water to the north, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) southwest of Kirkcowan. This is a drumlin, one of a number hereabouts, with its principal axis aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of flow of an ancient ice sheet which once covered this area.
