Dam Hill

A whaleback of limited prominence in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Dam Hill rises to 49m (160 feet) 3 miles (5 km) west of Bladnoch. This is an example of a drumlin, one of many hereabouts, deposited beneath an ancient glacier and with its principal axis aligned N-S suggesting the direction of ice flow. There is another Dam Hill 3½ miles (5.5 km) to the east southeast.
