Point Hill

A hillock in The Machars of Galloway, Point Hill rises to just beyond 90m (295 feet) in a loop of the Tarf Water, 2½ miles (4 km) west of Kirkcowan. It comprises two summits, with the farm steading of the Mark of Luce between. This is part of an extensive drumlin field, with its principal axis aligned NNE-SSW suggesting the direction of ice flow in an ancient glacier which covered this area.
