Linksfield

A small district of N Aberdeen, Linksfield lies to the north of Pittodrie, a mile (1.5 km) north of the city centre. Today largely associated with sports, the areas is bounded to the west by King Street, to the east by the King's Links, to the north by Regent Walk and the south by Linksfield Road. The Aberdeen Sports Village, Chris Anderson Stadium (formerly Linksfield Stadium) and playing fields are all located here. Linksfield Academy merged with St. Machar Academy in 2002 and its building was demolished in 2011 to be replaced by Aberdeen Aquatics Centre. In the late 19th century, there was a Manure Works here.
