Dub o' Hass

A pool at the confluence of the Urr Water and the Kirkgunzeon Lane in S Central Dumfries and Galloway, the Dub o' Hass is located a half-mile (1 km) south southwest of the centre of Dalbeattie. Meaning 'pool at the throat', this was once the location of Dalbeattie's harbour, known as The Port, and was kept clear from silt by the scour of the river allowing boats to turn.
