Moness Cup Marked Stone

The Moness Cup Marked Stone lies by the roadside, close to the entrance to the Birks of Aberfeldy car park, just to the south of Aberfeldy in Perth and Kinross. The stone has multiple cup-marks and was unearthed by local archaeologists in the 1960s some 250m northeast of its current location, although it was most-likely set here as a garden feature for Moness House. It was moved to present location in 2005 for safe-keeping and improve its accessibility as a housing estate was being developed on its original site. The purpose of cup-marks is unknown.
