Arisaig Railway Station


(Àrasaig)

A remote station on the West Highland Line, Arisaig Railway Station (Gael: Àrasaig) lies just to the northeast of the village of Arisaig and 6 miles (10 km) south of the railway's terminus at Mallaig. This station opened with the final section of the West Highland Railway in 1901. Now operated by ScotRail, Arisaig Railway Station is unstaffed and is used by only 7076 passengers in 2009-10. It is preceded by Beasdale Railway Station, 3 miles (5 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Morar, 4 miles (6.5 km) to the north northeast.
