Ashfield Railway Station


(Achadh an Uinnsinn)

An unstaffed suburban railway station in North Glasgow, Ashfield (Gael: Achadh an Uinnsinn) is located 1¼ miles (2 km) southwest of Bishopbriggs and 2 miles (3 km) north of the city centre. This station was opened in 1993, to permit the reintroduction of suburban passenger services on a the Maryhill Line. Now operated by ScotRail, Ashfield Railway Station is used by more than 75,000 passengers per annum (2016). It is preceded by Glasgow Queen Street Railway Station (High Level), 2 miles (3 km) to the south, and followed by Possilpark & Parkhouse, 7 miles (11 km) to the north.
