Tarbet Glen

A small but important valley in Argyll and Bute, Tarbet Glen connects Arrochar on Loch Long with Tarbet on Loch Lomond. It is only 1½ miles (2.5 km) in length but is steep-sided, cutting through the mountains between Cruach Tairbeirt and Ben Reoch. An old military road, the West Highland Railway Line, the modern A83 trunk road and the Three Lochs Way all pass through the glen.
