Rising to a height of 957m (3140 feet) north of Loch Cluanie, on the border of Inverness and Skye and Lochalsh districts of Highland Council Area, Carn Ghluasaid has a flat and stony summit. Its name is derived from the Gaelic for 'hill of movement'.
