Kelspoke Castle

The scant remains of Kelspoke Castle lie on high ground in the SE of the Isle of Bute, overlooking the islands of Little and Great Cumbrae across the Firth of Clyde, a half-mile (0.8 km) southeast of Kilchattan Bay. Only the footings and the southeastern corner of this L-shaped supposed tower-house are extant. The stone has been removed to build adjacent cottages and farm buildings, which are now also abandoned.
