Dalrymple Junction

A railway junction in South Ayrshire, Dalrymple Junction is located 1½ miles (2.4 km) north of Dalrymple and 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Alloway. There was a short-lived railway station here. Here the dual track Glasgow South Western Line splits into two single-track branches. The southern branch serves Girvan and terminates at Stranraer, while the eastern branch is an industrial line used for hauling coal from the Doon Valley.
