Lasswade Bridge

An 18th-C. structure, with later improvements, the Lasswade Bridge still carries the main road (now designated the A768) over the River North Esk connecting the two halves of Lasswade in Midlothian. The bridge was once tolled and the toll-house remains on the northern bank of the river. A cast-iron and concrete pathway was added beyond the parapet, on the southwestern side of the bridge, for pedestrians. Lasswade Bridge is now B-listed.
