Spateston

A southwestern suburb of Johnstone in Renfrewshire, Spateston is situated 1¼ miles (2 km) southwest of the town centre. Built in the early 1970s as public housing, the area comprises a mixture of terraced houses, two-storey flats and maisonettes, the area later expanded through the development of private housing. Facilities include a small shopping centre, post office, community library, park (with children's play area) and a bowling club. St. Anthony's is a catholic primary school with a unit for children with communication disorders. The Spateston Burn flows through the area.
