Beinn EigheA compact mountain range, comprising nine peaks in the Torridon Area of Highland Council and rising to 1010m (3313 feet) at Ruadh-stac Mor or the "big red stack". The other peaks are Coinneach Mhor ("the big moss"; 976m /3202 feet), Creag Dhubh, Sgurr Ban (970m / 3182 feet), Ruadh-stac Beag (896m / 2940 feet), Sail Mhor (980m / 3215 feet), Sgurr Bhan (970m / 3182 feet), Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe (963m / 3159 feet) and Spidean Coire nan Clach ("peak of the stony corrie"; 972m / 3189 feet).
The name Beinn Eighe originates from Gaelic and means "ice mountain" or "file mountain". Towards the west of the range is the spectacular 'Triple Buttress'. The massive Liathach lies to the southwest.
