Located in the centre of Letterewe wilderness, in the district of Ross and Cromarty in Highland Council Area, A' Mhaighdean rises to a height of 967m (3173 feet) and is arguably one of the most remote of all of Scotland's mountains. It qualifies as a Munro. The northwest ridge contains a number of crags, but does not prevent access, its summit being at the southern edge of the cliffs. The name A' Mhaighdean originates from Gaelic and means "the maiden".
