Located a mile (2 km) west of Clarencefield in Dumfries and Galloway, Comlongon Castle was erected by Sir Cuthbert Murray of Cockpool in 1450 and is a tower castle containing a well preserved Great Hall, dungeons and with an adjoining mansion. Held by the Murray family until 1984, it is now owned by the Ptolemy family, who run the mansion as a hotel.
