Fad, a lake in Portree parish, Isle of Skye, Invernessshire, 3¼ miles NNE of Portree town. Measuring ¾ by ¼ mile, it teems with trout, and sends off a streamlet 5 furlongs north-north-eastward to Loch Leathan (1 x 1/3mile), which streamlet, issuing from that loch, proceeds ¾ mile north-eastward to the cliffs, and there descends to the sea in a clear leap of 300 feet.
