Lunan Water, issuing from Rescobie Loch (196 feet above sea-level), and, ¼ mile lower down, traversing Balgavies Loch (4 x 11/3 furl.), flows 12 7/8 miles eastward through or along the boundaries of Rescobie, Kirkden, Guthrie, Kinnell, Inverkeilor, and Lunan parishes, till it falls into Lunan Bay. Its chief tributary is the Vinny; and its waters are limpid, and contain good sea-trout and excellent trout, with a few salmon.
