Parish of KirkcudbrightKirkcudbright is a coastal parish, which lies in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, some 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Castle Douglas and 21 miles (33 km) southeast of Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway.
It is located in the old county of Kirkcudbrightshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 49.9 sq. km (19.2 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Kirkcudbright. Kirkcudbright has Kelton, Rerrick and Tongland as its neighbouring parishes.
