Parish of KirkmaidenKirkmaiden is a coastal parish, which lies in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, some 15 miles (24 km) south of Stranraer and 25 miles (41 km) southwest of Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway.
It is located in the old county of Wigtownshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 55 sq. km (21.2 sq. miles). Kirkmaiden lies next to Stoneykirk parish.
