Parish of Stornoway

Stornoway is a coastal island parish, which lies on the long island of Lewis and Harris in the Western Isles Council Area, some 30 miles (49 km) northeast of Tarbert in the Western Isles and 45 miles (72 km) northwest of Gairloch in Highland.

It is located in the old county of Ross and Cromarty, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 265.5 sq. km (102.5 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Stornoway. Stornoway has Barvas, Lochs and Uig as its neighbouring parishes.
