Parish of Harris

Harris is a coastal island parish, which lies on the long island of Lewis and Harris in the Western Isles Council Area, some 28 miles (45 km) southwest of Stornoway in the Western Isles and 43 miles (69 km) northwest of Portree in Highland and includes 15 other small offshore islands.

It is located in the old county of Invernessshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 451.8 sq. km (174.4 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Tarbert. Harris has Lochs and Uig as its neighbouring parishes.
