Parish of Delting

Delting is a coastal island parish, which lies in Shetland Council Area, some 17 miles (28 km) north of Lerwick in Shetland and 114 miles (184 km) northeast of Kirkwall in Orkney and includes 7 other small offshore islands.

It is located in the old county of Shetland, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 131.7 sq. km (50.8 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Brae. Delting has 4 neighbouring parishes; namely Nesting, Northmaven, Sandsting and Tingwall.
