Parish of Knockbain

Knockbain is a coastal parish, which lies in Highland Council Area, some 5 miles (8 km) north of Inverness and 7 miles (12 km) southeast of Dingwall in Highland.

It is located in the old county of Ross and Cromarty, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 47 sq. km (18.1 sq. miles). Knockbain has Avoch, Killearnan and Urquhart & Logie Wester as its neighbouring parishes. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
